UNSERE KURVE
WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT THEN?
Unsere Kurve is a joint venture of German football fans, bridging the club-related divide for the benefit of our common overall interests.
We are the largest organization of active fans in Germany and fight for football's specific terrace culture and its freedom.
Officially founded in 2005. Unsere Kurve came into being when delegations of supporters of Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hamburg SV met to discuss fan-related subjects and found out that the problems we face are very much the same.
NOW WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UNSERE KURVE AND OTHER ORGANIZED FAN GROUPS?
Whereas other fans got engaged from outside the respective club they support, we try to work from within - as dues-paying members of our clubs. From here, we seek the dialogue with other clubs, the German Football League, the German Football Association and political decision makers to bring the ordinary fans' goals and wishes into focus.
AND WHO CAN JOIN IN?
We welcome all fan initiatives (preferrably supporters clubs, fan organizations within football clubs and related groups) of clubs from the First, Second and Third Bundesliga.
HOW DO WE WORK?
We keep close contact with each other and share news on fan-related matters. When our clubs meet, we arrange meetings before the match. On a quarterly basis, we have introduced nationwide meetings which are alternately held by our member groups. Here, we discuss strategies and activities.
WHAT EXACTLY DO WE STAND FOR?
We believe that
- football fans should be an indispensable and active part of their sport
- identity and emotion should remain in football
- the interests of the fans and those of business should be carefully balanced
- football fans should be treated as human beings
- we should have a say concerning the direction football takes in our country
We think we should fight against
- the notion that fans are merely customers
- the idea that fans are mostly a security risk
- current banning order guidelines
- attempts to make us fans look like criminals
- fans being misused as guinea pigs for anti-terror combat tactics
- constantly rising prices at the turnstiles
SOUNDS GOOD. BUT WHAT HAVE WE ACTUALLY ACHIEVED?
In 2007, the German Football Association considerably altered their banning order policy. Bans that had been pronounced valid for up to 5 years have now been reduced to 3 years at max. Furthermore, clubs are granted the right to pronounce banning orders "on parole". Home clubs now have a say when their fans are concerned.
Today, Unsere Kurve is regarded as a reliable and respectable part - nor by the German League, the FA and the UEFA.
